Antique Remington Rolling Block No.1 Sporting 44 Henry - Collectible

This is an antique Remington Rolling Block No.1 Sporting rifle chambered in 44 Henry. It features a 30-inch octagonal heavy barrel and elegant wood stock with crescent buttplate. The barrel still retains most of the original bluing with some light patina. The front sight blade is missing. The frame was most likely originally case-colored but now has worn to the white and has quite a bit of patina. The wood is still in very nice shape with no indication of being refinished. Everything seems to be in good mechanical condition with a strong hammer spring. The bore still has shine and visible rifling, however there are also large areas of very heavy pitting and frosting throughout. While it's probably possible to shoot this rifle, it would probably classify as a just a "wall hanger" in this condition. We are selling this "as is" due primarily to the poor condition of the bore.
