Belgian Nagant Model 1883 11mm (44 Henry) Revolver, Brazilian Navy Contract - Antique Revolver

PRICE: $799.99 $999.99

This is a Belgian Nagant Model 1883 revolver chambered in 11mm (44 Henry). It features a 5.75-inch barrel, blued finish, double action, wood grips, and 6-round cylinder. This example was manufactured by Nagant in Belgium and shipped to Brazil as part of an 1883 government contract. This revolver was issued to the Brazilian Navy and is marked on the left side of the frame "MARINHA DOS E.U.DO BRAZIL". These revolvers were chambered in 11mm Nagant which is the same as 44 Henry. Due to the high number of Winchester 66 rifles that Brazil had in service at the time, government officials wanted a revolver that could use the same cartridge. The Model 1883 remained in service in Brazil for many decades and the low serial number of this one indicates it was probably a very early import. All of the numbers match except for the grips. Overall condition is good with a bright shiny bore and strong rifling. Mechanically, everything works as it should with decent timing and lockup. There is some wear and minor patina to the finish and the left side grip panel has some damage and a repair around the screw. This would be a great addition to any South American military surplus collection or a fun shooter. Buy online today!
