Colt D.A Model 1877 "Thunderer" 41 Long Colt - Collectible *1896*

This is a Colt D.A Model 1877 "Thunderer" single action revolver chambered in 41 Long Colt. It features a 4.5-inch barrel, case colored frame, jeweled hammer, hard rubber grips, and 6-round cylinder. The serial number indicates it was manufactured in 1896. It does appear that this Thunderer went through a professional restoration at some point. The barrel, trigger guard, and backstrap have been re-blued. The hammer has been jeweled and the frame has been case colored. All of the markings have been very well preserved and sharp, a clear indication whomever did the refinishing did an excellent job. The hard rubber grips appear to be original and have some wear. The bore is in poor condition with pitting throughout and only faint rifling. Mechanically everything seems to be fine: The timing is decent and the lockup is strong. This revolver should shoot without a problem but accuracy will suffer due to the bore condition. This would make a nice addition to an antique Colt handgun collection. Buy online today!
