This is a very rare early production Devel 1911 magazine. It features a 7 round capacity of 45ACP ammo and is marked "DEVEL PAT PEND" on the follower and "DEVEL" on the bottom of the base. The Devel company was established by legendary gunsmith Charles Kelsey in the 1970's who was known for first developing the 8 round 1911 magazine. While Kelsey's firearm innovations were cutting edge he was less skilled at running a business and the failure in making a reliable 8 round 1911 magazine eventually lead Devel into bankruptcy.
