PRICE: $749.99 $1,299.99

This is a vintage German Suhl Model 1809 Percussion Musket chambered in .72 caliber smoothbore black powder. This is a vintage antique German musket rifle manufactured in Suhl, Germany. The Union imported about 100,000 of these smoothbores in 1861-1862 when the need for arms was greatest. Soldiers sometimes called these the "pumpkin slingers." This rifle has a 40.75" barrel, single shot percussion action, brass adornments, and a wood stock. The barrel is dated "1833" at the breech, along with German Crown proof marks. The lock is marked with proof marks "Crown" and "SUHL. The walnut stock has a cut out cheek piece and features brass furniture, trumpet head ramrod, and brass barrel bands. The butt plate is stamped with "19. L. R. 11. C and No 231". Overall condition of the barrel, hammer, and lock have a brownish patina, with pitting around the nipple bolster extending to the breech. The stock has some service wear but is overall in good condition. The chamber is in fair to good condition and the barrel is tarnished but retains normal use reflecting the age of this rifle. This would make a great choice for black powder and European collectors and enthusiasts. Buy online today!
