This is a Mitchells Mausers reproduction Mauser K98k rifle chambered in 7.92x57. It features a 23.5-inch barrel with blued finish, wood stock, and is marked "S/42K" on top of the receiver. This is most likely a former Russian capture rifle that was refurbished, refinished, and re-marked by Mitchell's Mauser to represent a finer example of a WW2-era German K98k. While K98s that have been remanufactured by Mitchell's lack collectors value, the company has a reputation of selecting base rifles with excellent bores such as this one that tend to make excellent shooters.
