This is a scarce National Postal Meter M1 Carbine chambered in .30 Carbine and imported by Blue Sky. It features an 18-inch blued Marlin barrel, which would be correct for this gun. The barrel is marked on the left side "BLUE SKY/ARLINGTON. VA" and has been re-blued, probably after it was stamped by the importer. The serial number indicates the receiver was manufactured between November, 1943 and May, 1944. This is a post-war rebuild that most likely came out of South Korea and has a mixture of parts from various makers. Overall condition is good, the bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling. The stock does have some repairs; there are six pins on the right side below the handguard and two pins near the slide-lock indentation. This would be a great addition to any M1 Carbine collection as National Postal Meter examples are scarcer than other manufacturers. The parts of which this rifle is comprised are listed below.
