This is a German Police-issue Smith & Wesson Victory Model revolver chambered in 38 Special. It features a 4-inch pinned barrel, 6-round cylinder, fixed sights, lanyard ring, and wood grips. Overall, this Smith is in good condition with normal age-related finish wear throughout the barrel, cylinder, and frame. The frame and barrel are "P" proofed. The backstrap is marked WB-LP-2415 for Wurttemberg-Baden Landespolizei. The top strap has a US property stamp and there are initials etched into the frame near the Smith & Wesson logo. This gun was issued to German police forces by the US for use in occupied zones of in post-WW2 Germany. Based on serial prefix "V" this revolver was manufactured circa 1942-1945.
