Springfield Armory US Rifle M1 Garand 30-06, All Correct British Lend-Lease - WW2 *1942*![]() PRICE: $3,999.99This is a classic WW2 British Lend-Lease Springfield Armory US Rifle M1 Garand chambered in 30-06 Springfield. This is one of about 38,000 Springfield Garand rifles that were supplied to Great Britain under the Lend-Lease Act between October and June of 1942. It features a 24-inch barrel, parkerized finish, and uses 8-round en-bloc clips. The serial number places the date of manufacture to April, 1942, which aligns closely with the barrel date of 2/42. This rifle remains in un-altered 1942 configuration with Type I lock bar rear sight, milled trigger guard, grooved rear hand guard clip, unaltered "D35382 3 SA" operating rod and all marked parts are of Springfield manufacture. The operating rod catch, hammer spring plunger and plunger housing are not parkerized. The upper hand guard, lower hand guard and long throat stock are matching oil finished walnut. The right side of the chamber exterior is stamped with the British Birmingham proof marks applied when the rifle was exported from Britain in the 1950s. There is a shallow proof indentation visible on the top of the receiver. The left side of the stock is stamped with the Springfield Armory final inspection mark that consists of the initials "SA/G.H.S." (Colonel Gilbert H. Stewart) within a rectangle followed by a large diameter Ordnance Corps escutcheon. An encircled serif "P" proof mark is stamped on the inside of the pistol grip. Overall condition is good, the bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling and very smooth action. Unlike many of these Lend-Lease M1s this one of the standout examples that certainly saw some use during the war with small numbers of these rifles being used by British Commando battalions in North Africa and the Far East. There is some wear to the metal finish and the wood has some scuffs, scratches, dings, chips and pressure marks. Included with the rifle is the correct leather sling, which has probably been on this rifle since its time in service. This is an incredible piece of WW2 history that would be a great addition to any military firearms collection. Buy online today! SKU: 10140573 |
