It features an 18-inch barrel, parkerized finish, bayonet lug, low wood stock, 4-rivet handguard, and 15-round magazine. The serial number indicates this rifle was manufactured between November of 1943 and March of 1944. The left side of the stock is marked "AAS" which refers to Augusta Arsenal where it was most likely rebuilt. The right side of the buttstock is marked "GHD UEF" inside a box with crossed cannon ordnance proof, which represents inspector Guy H. Drewry and Underwood Elliott Fisher Company. This M1 Carbine was more than likely rebuilt for use in the Korean Conflict. Overall condition of this rifle is good; the bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling. There is some wear to the metal finish and the wood has some scuffs, dings, nicks, and pressure marks. A complete list of the various marked parts on this rifle is listed below.
