Japanese Arisaka Type 2 Paratrooper Rifle 7.7x58, Nagoya Arsenal - Collectible

This is a WW2 Japanese Arisaka Type 2 Paratrooper take-down rifle chambered in 7.7x58 Japanese. It features a 26-inch barrel with blued finish, dust cover, winged anti-aircraft rear sight and 5-round internal magazine. Only about 20,000 of these rifles were manufactured by the Nagoya Arsenal between 1943 to 1945. This example has all matching numbers and an intact chrysanthemum. The Japanese characters below the mum read "Type 2". Overall condition of this rifle is good with minor wear and light patina to the metal. The bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling. The wood is in nice shape with some dings, scuffs, nicks and pressure marks. The name "HALL" is carved into the right side below the receiver, possibly the soldier who brought it back from the war.
