Josh Golcher Solid Breech Percussion Rifle/Shotgun Combo in 20 Bore and 41 Caliber with G. W. Burnes Barrels - Collectible *1850s*

This is a collectible Josh Golcher Solid Breech Percussion Rifle/Shotgun Combo chambered in 20 Bore and 41 Caliber ball. It features 30-inch dual G.W. Burnes over/under barrels, single trigger operation, solid breech action, brass trigger guard and patch box, German silver inlays, American turkey and waterfowl engraving, and rear adjustable sights. Overall, this gun is in good collectible condition with signs of use throughout the finish of the barrel, action, and locks. This combination long arm passed a function check with the hammers holding at lock until the trigger is pulled. The left rabbit ear hammer appears to have been chipped. The barrels are dark with the top rifle barrel retaining little rifling. Included are the cleverly stowed ramrods and either side of the barrels.

Josh Golcher and his brother George both produced locks and long arms from the 1840s top the 1880s in Philadelphia. Some of Josh Golcher's early work included sporting solid breech percussion style combo sporting arms. This solid breech is a classic example of his work.
