This is a WW1-era Mauser Gewehr 98 rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser. It features a 29-inch barrel, 5-round capacity, claw extractor, roller coaster rear sight, bayonet lug, cleaning rod, and steel buttplate. Overall, this rifle is in good condition with normal age-related finish wear throughout the barrel, receiver, and stock. The handguard has a crack forward of the barrel band. Bore condition is fair with pitting throughout the rifling. The serial numbers are mismatched and there are no import marks. The chamber is dated 1915.
