This is a WW2 Mauser P-38 pistol chambered in 9mm. It features a 4.9-inch barrel, 8-round magazine, fixed sights, thumb safety/decocker, heel magazine release, and steel frame. Overall, this Mauser is in good condition with normal age-related finish wear throughout the barrel, slide, and frame. The beavertail is import marked and the original serial number on the frame was defaced (likely by the Russians). To comply with the Gun Control Act of 1968, the importer applied a new serial number on the frame. The slide is marked with a Mauser "BYF" code with 44 date.
