Rare WW1 British Pattern 1907 Bayonet By Chapman - Vintage Bayonet *1918*
This is a rare WW1 era British Pattern 1907 bayonet by Chapman for use with SMLE rifle. It features a 16.75" blade with an overall length of 21.75", the ricasso is faintly marked "18" indicating 1918 manufacture. James A. Chapman produced only about 300,000 Pattern 1907 bayonets out of the approximately 5 million made during WW1. This example more than likely saw service by the British Empire during WW1, WW2 or both but the markings on the pommel also indicate that it probably ended up going to India after WW2 as many of these bayonets did. If only this bayonet could talk! Overall condition is good with typical surplus wear, the semi-sharp edge appears to be original and much of the bluing still remains on the blade. The leather scabbard is in nice shape with some scuffs and scratches. Buy online today!
