This is an ROF Fazakerley Enfield No4 MK2 RAF contract rifle chambered in .303 British. It features a 25.2-inch barrel, black military finish, wood stock, and all matching numbers. The serial number has a "UF" prefix followed by "55" indicating it was manufactured in 1955 by the Royal Ordnance Factory rifle manufacturing plant in Fazakerley, Liverpool. These rifles were part of an Royal Air Force contract of 35,000 and were immediately placed in long-term storage. They would sit in the British war reserve for 40 years before being sold as surplus to US buyers in the mid-1990s. This example is in very good condition with a bright shiny bore and strong rifling.
