US Civil War Navy Model 1861 Bayonet For Plymouth Rifle, By Collins & Co - Vintage Bayonet
This is an original US Civil War Navy Model 1861 bayonet for Plymouth Rifle. It features a 22-5/8" "Yataghan" blade and total length of 27-3/8", the ricasso is marked “COLLINS & CO. HARTFORD, CONN.” who produced approximately 10,000 Plymouth Rifles with matching numbered bayonets between 1862 and 1864. The hilt bears the serial number "7491" and the end of the pommel is marked "F.C.W" for inspector Frank C. Warner. Overall condition is good with the original edge, the blade has some patina and minor corrosion and the brass has some dings and tarnishing. The leather scabbard is in poor condition with lots of cracking, dents and tarnishing to the brass fittings, split seam and the bottom 8" has broken off. Buy online today!
