This is a Mitchells Mausers reproduction Mauser K98k rifle chambered in 7.92x57. It features a 23.5-inch barrel with blued finish, wood stock, and is marked "S/42K" on top of the receiver. This is most likely a former Russian capture rifle that was refurbished, refinished, and re-marked by Mitchell's Mauser to represent a finer example of a WW2-era German K98k. While K98s that have been remanufactured by Mitchell's lack collectors value, the company has a reputation of selecting base rifles with excellent bores such as this one that tend to make excellent shooters. Overall condition of this rifle is good with very little wear to the bluing and vey nice wood.
